Delete your Cvilio account

Last updated: 5 September 2026

You can delete your Cvilio account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. You do not need to write to us and you do not need a reason.

1. In the app

  1. Open Cvilio and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm when asked.

The deletion happens immediately. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account once it has been deleted.

2. If you cannot reach the app

If you have lost access to your device, write to support@cvilio.de from the email address the account uses. We will verify that it is yours and delete it within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

4. What is kept, and for how long

Deleted documents (tombstones)Purged after 90 days

The 90 days is not arbitrary: a deletion has to outlive the longest plausible period another of your devices might be offline, or that device would sync the document back. The database has a purge_deleted_documents routine that removes them afterwards.

The subscription records are the one thing we cannot delete on request. German commercial and tax law requires us to retain invoices and payment records, and that obligation outranks a deletion request. They contain the transaction, not your CVs.

5. The CVs on your device are not touched

Deleting your account removes what we hold. Everything on the phone in your hand stays where it is, so you do not lose your work by closing your account. To remove that too:

6. Deleting individual documents

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove something. Deleting a single CV or letter in the app removes it from your account as well, on every device you are signed in on.
